Recently did some disassembly and cleaning under the hood. Needed new gaskets so I replaced intake upper and lower, valve cover, throttle body, and exhaust gaskets. The truck was not running well before the maintenance, but now it will not start at all. It will turn over fine, but there is no fire. The only things that stand out to me are the fact that I removed the distributor and I can't hear anything in the gas filler when I try to prime the pump. I tried using starting fluid but no luck, although the engine will backfire. I checked the plugs with an in-line spark plug tester and I am getting spark on each plug. I believe I might not be reinstalling the distributor correctly and this is causing the spark to be out of time. I raised piston #1 to TDC and installed the distributor in with the marks lined up but I haven't had any luck so far. Any tips out there for tracking this down?

Check you timing again. If it's backfiring then it's close. Remove the upper timing cover and rotate the crank til the timing dimple is facing the casting ridge hiding on the left side of the cam recess (if it's not lining up at the same time TDC is showing on the crank pulley, do a few rotations til it is aligned) Check your plugs while it's not firing and see if the plugs are looking wet with fuel which will indicate fuel delivery is working.
