View Full Version : (Corrected Information) Control Arm Bushings

Sorry for the wrong information the first time, jacked up the truck to check that the ball joint was my issue.. long story short it wasn't. I do beleive this is the lower control arm, the photos should show how much travel it has between left and right rotation of the wheel.

I would have gotten pictures of the condition of the driver's side, but I wasn't able to find it. Where I beleive it would have connected, the steering shaft connects.

Looks like the Idler Arm ~ buy a quality part to replace it

FWIW, the driver's side counterpart would indeed be the Pitman arm, which converts rotation of the steering wheel into a lateral movement via the steering gear box. The idler arm completes a parallelogram linkage along with the Pitman arm, center drag link, and the truck frame.
