Need help on ignition control module part #

1990 Mighty Max 2.4l base extended. Know mine is bad and it has J121 stamped on it but everywhere I check it says it is a no fit part. Ran fine before but don't know if all the listings are right or wrong. Can anyone help me understand?

There is probably a cross reference part # that isn't coming up on the searches you are doing. Hey, if it was working before and it fitted correctly everything should be good to go on directly replacing the failed unit. There is a chance this isn't the original distributor for your truck and it has been sourced from another Mitsubishi.

Want to try the same # on the part but keep coming with dfferent MD #s for the same part. Guess I'll try it as it looks exact in pics and same lettering stamps.
