Hey guys just trying to get my MM running better
Ive been driving it around and most of the time there isn’t a problem. I reach speeds of 65-70 no prob, BUT there has been times where I’m driving on the highway and in the city where the truck somehow cuts the flow of gas and turns off. it starts right up no problem but then it’ll do it after again and again.
Not sure if it’s a fuel problem, or a spark problem
I’ve replaced the fuel pump and filter, new spark plugs, and wires
thanks in advance

Could be a flake of debris in your fuel tank gets sucked up against the pickup tube, starving it for fuel until the pump loses power and relieves the suction, then the debris drifts away allowing it to start and run again.

Check your ignition coil. If the ballast resistor is really hot after a shut down event, it may have a hairline crack in it. The engine shut-off/ cold restart is a classic symptom. Check it by touch but be warned - if it has failed it will be hot enough to burn your fingers! Any other symptoms? Does it just die, or does it struggle/misfire first or a sudden loss of power then shuts off etc

Thanks guys! @geezer101 yes it does misfire, loss of power sometimes followed by a backfire and then it turns off. Sometimes I’m able to start it up again right after it shuts off. I’ll definitely order a new coil. Also it doesn’t have a maf sensor would that be part of the problem? Lol it seems to be running fine with out it

Possible that it's a blocked fuel filter? When was it last checked/replaced?

Recently it’s a new filter and pump

It may also be an intermittent electrical fault. Not easy to diagnose.
