So, I'm currently rebuilding a 1993 MM. As I'm filling it with coolant, I find a massive leak. Well, as it turns out, I forgot to scrape the old gasket off this piece, causing it to break when torque was applied. I've searched and searched, and image searched and asked and nobody knows what this piece is so I can't replace it
What it is a cast aluminum piece that bolts to the intake. From there, the thermostat sets in it and the water neck bolts over it. I've tried searching for days but can't find a replacement. If anybody knows what this piece is called or has a link for a replacement, that would be perfect!

are you talking about the thermostat housing? That,s what the upper hose connects to. Otherwise the part it bolts to is the intake manifold.

See, that's what I would assume, but searching for the thermostat housing only gives me results for the water neck. What I need is the part that fits between the manifold and the water neck, but the only two references I've found online to it is on rockauto, which has the gasket listed as thermostat housing or case to manifold.

This is what I'm searching for, but thermostat housing just brings up water necks and what not :/

I never found this parts diagram. Glad I have a part number to go off of anyway. Thanks for posting it. Maybe I'll find one somewhere. Until then, if anybody knows if something else, say the montero's or etc, use these then do let me know.
Otherwise, I have a potentially round about way to get myself out of this mess. I'll update what happens.

Probably need to hit up a couple of junkyards or have one made if that fails. Also try the Facebook groups. Someone might have one
