Alright I did something dumb, I took something apart without taking pictures. The blower motor. There's a little arm that controls a door from the ac switch that was attached to something. I cant figure it out.

For more context the small metal ring is under the dashboard hooks up to the blower motor and it tugs on it from the switch in the pic. I tried to upload another pic but the site won't let me.

Look at the upper half of the blower case right up under the dash. You will see a metal retaining clip and the pivot assembly for the fresh/recirculating air flap on one side. It's probably not going to be a lot of fun to get to. Try to get the clip to grab where the original indents on the cable sheath are so it will operate properly. If the clip isn't in it's locator slot, it's gone for a mystery tour somewhere under the dash (fingers crossed it's still hanging onto the side of the blower case...)
