Hey all, semi-long time lurker, first time poster reporting in . I've been browsing the forum for info on this and that since I bought my 1988 G63B Mighty Max last year (sharing a couple pics below). I love the truck and it's been a champ, but it needs a bit of work and I haven't had a chance to do much yet. Anyway, I'll be here looking for some parts, maybe asking some questions, and just plain ol' hanging out. Beyond that, hopefully contributing in whatever way I can. Looking forward to meeting you all and thanks for the many helpful threads and cool pics I've seen here so far!

It looks like the body is in good shape. That’s always a starting point.

Yep, the body is doing pretty well over all. A few tiny spots of rust here and there but nothing at all concerning. Certainly dented in a few places, but I don't really mind. The chassis is in fairly good shape as well--though I do plan to pop the bed off sometime soon and rust proof it, a la MrPaco (http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin/showthread.php/8355-Frame-rust-removal-with-bed-off).

Really like the silver with chrome accents.

Thank you kindly. I happen to think my little dealy is a looker too . But I'm always fascinated to see other folks' setups. There's an amazing variety to these, seems like everyone else's truck I've seen on the forum so far has something unique about it.

Looking forward to following along when you do it. I'm curious to see how it looks like under the bed of another east coast truck. I takes some work (and a couple of friends to help lift the bed) but it's a fairly easy job to do, I'm a novice at best and didn't run into any issues I couldn't handle. Ask questions if you have any, happy to share whatever little knowledge I got from doing it.

Right on! I'll be sure to drop plenty of pics when I do. And thanks, if I do end up having questions I may just take you up on that. What you did looked like a huge success. As for lifting the bed, I recently picked up a heavy duty engine hoist off a retired tradesman who was local to me. So that's more or less my plan for popping the thing off.
