88 Mmax removed all the drum brake parts carefully and taking pics as I removed parts. Got everything back together except the bottom spring. I have tried many ways to get in hooked. Even tried attaching it before putting the pin and holding spring in. Tried putting on the bottom then fought to try to get the top spring and adjuster on. What am I doing wrong?

something like that
or even a motorcycle exhaust spring tool

you do get the knack of it if you can put up with the frustration long enough
