I recently tried to rebuild the stock mikuni carb on my G54B but let's just say I was unsuccessful. I switched to a weber carb, but still have the pictures and figured that my pictures might help one sorry son of a gun fix his.
I would have made this an album but couldn't figure out how too. So I'm just going to post links to 50 pics at a time. They might be a little out of order but generally starting at the top link is where I started and they should generally be in order of the teardown.

Good luck to all those who venture into said godforsaken carb.
My take on the carb. Burn it with gasoline and get a weber. The instal took me 2 hours, not including the time for the electric fuel pump.

Hey bugs ~ I know what you mean about the Mikuni carb it's got a lot of little parts ~ this post of yours has taught me 2 things so far ~ the 2nd Gen Mikuni looks even more complicated than the 1st Gen & the float will fit in both Gen carbs (the exact brown colored plastic float was in a 1985 1st Gen truck Mikuni that I got from PicknPull Roseville, CA

HOPE you get more replies abt how to upload photos to your home page here ~ 800X600 pixels is largest size photos accepted here ~ I use Microsoft Paint program to resize photos & then upload em using create ALBUMS at your home page ~

Take your time & take plenty coffee breaks while working on a dang carburetor ~

Good Luck
George
