Is there any differences between the 2.0 litre with a carb distributor and the distributor in my 1991 2.4 litre with Fuel Injection?

No vac advance on the 4G64 distributor. They are both the same as far as gear drive and body dimensions so they will interchange.

I'm assuming the 2.0 is a hall effect dizzy too?

Yes. AFAIK none of the trucks after 4G32 Gen 1's had points or optical triggered ignitions in them.

I wonder if there is a way I could change it to a magnetic pickup... I should pull out my 2.0 distributor and have a look.

Can1991Ram ~ permission to add other distributor questions to your thread..?

I need a 1986 (4X4 truck) vacuum advance diaphragm actuator but I can only find a 1984 actuator on eBay ~> will it fit on the 1986 distributor..? It looks similar/same...

Question #2 ~ O'Reilly's has a rebuilt Cardone distributor for my truck on the island $153.00 core $85.00 ~ should I just buy the Cardone unit or try fixing mine ? My dist has new ignition module cap & rotor ~

Here is O'Reilly's dist: https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/remanufactured-2705/ignition---tune-up-16776/distributor-12503/8c7c95368caf/cardone-distributor-remanufactured/31571/2451062/1986/dodge/power-ram-50?pos=0

NEED ADVICE

I would get the rebuild. Then you know it has good bearing and has been thoroughly checked.. plus has a warranty

I hear you bro - fixing n fixing n fixing only to keep finding more things to fix NOT to mention rework of fixes that don't completely fix !!! Today I ordered a 1989 MM dist vac advance actuator unit from my local O'Reillys -- $23 shipped they said if it don't fit return no problem for full refund -- on paper it looks like it might work -- if not, O'Reillys has one cardone rebuilt 1986 dist on Oahu hmmm I'll get it then if my attempted fix don't work --
Mah truck is gobbling gas like it has a hole in the gas tank !!! I'm gonna rev it with timing light to see if centrifigal advance works & vacuum gauge the dist vac hose to check for ported vacuum proper operation

Can1991Ram ~ Thanks again for allowing me to add my distributor info to your thread ~

1) Installed a new distributor vacuum advance unit on my 1986 Dodge Power Ram 50 with California emissions and Mitsubishi distributor

2) Internet does not list any vac units for 1985 & 1986 MM or Dodge Ram50 trucks ~ the closest year they list is 1987 to 1989 ~ other older & newer years have units listed ~

3) I took a chance and bought the 1987 to 1989 vacuum actuator and it's a perfect fit on my 1986 truck and can be installed without removing the distributor (just need an offset Phillips screw driver) ~ OH it came with two new mounting screws too ~ not cadmium gold plated tho but the silver plating looks good ~ the OReilly part is also "Made in Japan" ~ no need to buy a rebuilt distributor
both centrifugal & vacuum advance work fine now ~

4) This is the unit I bought from O'Reillys:
