This is my first post so bear with me here.. I purchased a 1988 Power ram 50 in the back half of 2019. The truck had almost Zero rust when bought (virginia truck) and 77k original miles. i have since fixed all the rust, and re-painted the outer shell of the body (no door jams) in the original paint code color. I'm flirting with swapping a 318 into it but im not sure because I have literally all of the original booklets/window sticker/owners manuals. Is it worth re-building the ole 2.6? It has some ring blow-by I think and original exhaust. So im not positive it's the rings. Basically im asking how much are these things worth in the complete original state. And would I be doing it an injustice by swapping it? Everything works as is and I bought it as a beater but I've yet to see another ram 50 in my state (Indiana). How common are they anywhere else?

Pictures before and after paint can be posted if you'd like to see it. But id have to download from my phone so let me know!

oh yeah, i would. if its original keep it. now if its a blown engine or if its so far gone it has self bored 90 over, then yeah i would swap it, bag it (or lift it if its 4wd).

i have all the stuff for my 87 i got early 2019 (south carolina truck) with one rust hole in the bottom of the fender and a receipt from march of 88 for a rust protection job in Savannah ga. its really clean. ill attatch all my receipts as well as a side view.241542416024159241582415724156241552416224153 24152241512415024149241482414724146241452416124144 24163
