I need a new ballast resistor for my 1985 Dodge Ram 50 (2.6) but I can't find the part listed anywhere. Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement? Thanks

I believe the stock resistors are somewhere around 1.2 ohms. You could upgrade the coil while your at it. I think the MSD .8ohm resistor and a blaster coil are a hot combo for a reasonable price. I believe that's what Pennyman runs.

Good question. Transformer type coils develop a stronger spark than the OEM oil filled coils. Should provide better fuel economy and be more stable at higher rpms. Logically also should have a positive effect on emissions  I did use an aftermarket Bosch T coil on my Colt project but as I'd changed engines and added a custom rally exhaust I wouldn't be able to single out how much difference it made (I did get booted by it once - not cool)
