Hey everyone!,
I got myself a 1987 Mighty Max with the 2.6L recently and need to fix an engine issue. The previous owner at some point broke the timing chain tensioner which in turn tore the teeth off of the main drive for the oil pump and now the balance shaft of the back of the oil pump is shot as is the bearing hole in the motor. I have seen there are elimination kits, however I am not sure which one to get. I have read that the cheaper ones can cause issues down the road. Any help is appreciated!

There are multiple ways to eliminate the balance shafts. The good ones use factory shaft elimination parts.

That being said, there will be a vibration without them.

I found this link posted by LSR Mike on a MightyRam page from 2013 while searching for a delete kit http://www.vfaq.com/mods/balance-shafts.html

Hence the forewarning. Wouldn't want someone to order a kit that wasn't compatible...

Sorry for any confusion caused.
I posted it for informational purposes so that link was available to anyone doing searched for balance shaft elimination not as a direct recommendation to apply to the OP. I would hope anyone who read it would realize whether or not it applied to their own motor.
BTW the link is not for a kit it recommends buying the individual parts listed with part numbers.
