D50 tranny in Dodge ram 50

Will a 1980 Dodge D-50 Auto transmission fit a 1984 Dodge ram 50 2.6L with little or no modifications.

As long as they're both wide block engines, they should be interchangeable. It also helps that they are both from Gen 1 trucks.

I am not a 1'st gen expert, one caveat...
--also make sure the 'button' on the torque convertor
will fit into the end of the crankshaft--

1st gen automatics are all narrow block 2.0 and 2.6, so the 84 2.6 needs to be a narrow block as well for it to work...
