I think some have, and others are in the process.

I'm sure there are others here.
Of course, you could always try an inline-16, if you want to keep it simple

Plenty of SB V8's have been done, no doubt you could go monster cubes with little trouble. The hurdle will be the 4x4 transmission. A RWD only swap would be simple - you may need to think about some radical fabrication and mods using a full size truck as a donor.

Found this info. Apparently its possible to bolt right up to some of the tranny's that came with the mitsu/D50 https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/v8-swap-for-a-d50.396841/
Lots of D50 v8 vids

An inline 6 would be quite difficult. They are significantly longer than a v8. For a 4 wheel drive, you would probably want to do an engine/transmission/transfer case that all bolt together. Then modify the driveshafts to fit the new transfer case.

Right, that's why I suggested the inline 16. seems pretty doable.

LMAO, I totally missed that. That's hysterical. I'll have to look at that article in depth later.
