How often do you do an oil change?

I recently went to valvoline to do an oil change and they recommended I get the oil blend instead of the pure synthetic. After they were done they said bring it back after 3k miles. If I had known it was 3k miles I would've gotten the full synthetic for 5k miles.

What oil do you guys use? How often do you do an oil change?
