Don't think you can get just upper bushings alone. Here, I have these, might as well get new cross shafts also. Its a killer deal: http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin/showthread.php/59-FS-2-new-u.c.a.-cross-shafts-and-bushings-87-96-2wd

They are still for sale if you need them. They are like $35 each new, I'll let them both go for $45 shipped

count the turns on each cap when removing the old ones so they are close when the new ones are installed - the caps set the caster for the spindles.

The end caps on the arm are the bushings - all metal and screw in.

I think pennyman is thinking of the first gen. We need to come up with a second gen factory manual.

They should be the same on both gens - the parts are the same.

The picture looks different from what we have. I know mine have the 22mm cap / nut thing. With a zerk fitting in the end of it. His look like a standard Moog bushing. Or do they screw in on the back side? Payrion Look in the factory manual and see if it's the same. It's been so long since I did mine IDR. I'll need to look again.

Hay Payrion.
Update your profile so it shows what year truck you have. It's ether in the settings or on the main profile page. This way I can help you search.

Pennyman.
I also thought that to change the caster we would unbolt the cross rod from the frame and rotate it one way or the other. If I remember correctly on mine I ran the nut into the arm and the cross bar was threaded in on the inside. Then I rotated the rod one way or the other to make the change. I know the outside of the big nut had a round lump like thread that locked it into the arm.

All my 2nd gen trucks look exactly like yours, as well as any other 2nd gen truck I've ever seen. But yea I don't know what is up with the aftermarket replacement shafts, they are set up a little differently, I even called rock auto where I bought them from and they called Beck/Arnley and they confirmed these are the right part for our trucks. I'm assuming its just an updated/better design?

Ok here's the poop. as typical in the 90's when something went bad you replaced the whole part. Ball joint on your Taurus gone bad?? guess what you have to replace the whole arm as the ball joints are not sold seperately. looks like the 90's MM/Ram50's are the same thing, you replace the whole control arm if the bushings are bad.

If that is the case then someone needs to trash out the upper and lower arms and build custom ones that use 3/4 inch Uniballs and Hyme joints. For around $10,000.00 I can get a hole production line set up at the house. The money is for the new Tig welder and a mill. The wife you'd kill me so someone else would need to build the parts, but it would be ready to go.

Mike at dallas hodrod parts have uppers built just like that and for about 300 a pair I think...

i thought the unibolt option was add 200 or so to the 250 base price..i could be wrong
