Hey guys, I've done a Weber install on my 1987 Mitsubishi Mighty Max 2.0 Auto.

Mods include:
Weber 32/36 DFEV
In line electric fuel pump
In line fuel filter
Fuel pressure regulator
Fuel pressure gauge
Mechanical fuel pump delete
EGR delete
EVAP delete
Oil pressure safety switch for carb
Relay and circuit breaker for fuel pump
New coil
New ballast resistor
Distributor is a few months old

I have done all of these mods and have seen a SIGNIFICANT improvement in this truck. It's like its not even the same truck! But........ it starts backfiring under a load, such as going up a long steep hill. I've checked timing, fuel pressure, everything I can think of and NOTHING has changed it. Any suggestions as to what I should try next??? Also, I still have to adjust the transmission kick down, it's being a pain as well.

The factory timing is 'o.k.' to set your base idle but it is not great for performance. Try retuning the ignition -
