I recently picked up this 1988 Max, and the grill doesn't quite fit right. It appears to not be from my generation, but the one after (2000?). Before i order a correct year grill, are they 100% interchangeable? I only ask, because if they are, then maybe there are simply missing clips or a bent something or other preventing this one from fitting.

They should be the same from 87-96. Must be something either broken, missing or bent somewhere.

There were 4 different styles of grille.
87-89
90-92 (what you have)
93-96
There was also the square egg crate Ram 50 grille.
They were styled differently, but they should all fit the same. All the sheet metal on the front end was the same from 87-96.
The front end on my 92 is all tweaked from a previous wreck. So even though I have a brand new reproduction 90-92 grille, it doesn't fit quite right.

As said you have the 90-92 version. They all interchange, so you're missing clips or your core support is bent.

The clips are still available from a dealer as long as they have the parts manual to order from. I got some last year.

...or it's an aftermarket grille and it doesn't fit properly :shakehead:
