first timer here
1990 ram50 2.4l auto.
runs rough
pull #2 plug wire engine dies
pull #1,3,4 engine does not die, no change
new plugs wires cap rotor coil fuel pressure reg.
fuel filter good compression, leak down test is good.
all help is appreciated

Get the fault codes from the ECU and see what errors are coming up. When did the problem start, had you changed anything before issues cropped up? Bunch of things can cause malfunctions (bad fuel pump, faulty relays, faulty ECU, bad ground leads...).

I have replaced dist, cap,rotor, plugs, wires, fuel pump relay.
ecu says normal, but this truck sat for awhile, w/no battery, once the batter y is disconnected ecu looses codes, correct??
I have fuel, but intermittent and weak spark.

Your coil pack may need to be replaced. They break down after 10-15 years. One of the main culprits for poor running and fuel economy. Maybe try some fuel system cleaner in the tank. Injectors can get gummed up. Also go over all the ground lead connections and give them a good clean up. Dirty grounds wreak havoc with the electrical system.

This is true but if it has a code issue running the motor and driving it will usually reset any unfixed codes that were deleted by disconnecting the battery.

it's a pain but have you tested or tried moving fuel injectors around?
