So I went to start my Weber install yesterday and the carb I bought said it was for an automatic transmission. I searched and saw about swapping the throttle cable piece from my old carb but I wouldnt be able to attached the verticle rod piece for the top butterfly piece of the carb. Any ideas of what I could do? Here's some pictures...

I had a manual gear box. My carb they wanted me to cut the cable. So I took my old carb lever like you have and tack welded it to the new part. Have you contacted the company you got the carb from and asked if they could send you the part?

PS: your post wen to moderation because of the pictures. Next time it happens you can drop a line on the chat and it will get posted faster.

Well after multiple messages back and forth with the seller and him getting into contact with Weber, he is sending me a part from Redline that goes onto the stud with the throttle cable part. Here is the item and part number.

That is a great find - this needs added to the Weber sticky, as this is more common an issue than 1 in 80 installs. Moderators, can you copy the last post into the sticky?

As for all the vacuum hose to cap and get rid of, can I get rid of that big silver box with all the lines running to it?

If you are not planning of going back to the factory Mikuni carb, then you can remove the entire vacuum control system all together. The Weber only relies on one vacuum line to actuate the advance on the distributor and that is from the carb itself and not the manifold.
