Hey guys, my 92 Ram 50 2.4 RWD truck I've gotten going here since a timing belt replace.. All seems pretty good for the most part performing as it should, besides steering loose on center and brakes grabby on one wheel more- could use service.

..except for a trouble starting issue sometimes, I know it's flooding out when this happens and cylinders won't fire, I smell the gas bad. Usually after the engine has been started and is slightly warm then shut off and tried to start again. Sometimes even when trying the first time on a cold engine.

I've tried no-throttle and max-throttle on the gas pedal to try and get it going with little luck. Usually best to repeatedly stab gas pedal when its barely coughing and wants to start.. before it clears out a real rich mixture and begins to run normally.

Any advice? I just cleaned fuel injectors and flushed fuel system. Could it be fuel pressure regulator problem?

Usually when it won't start and is flooded out... I can't get it going again without waiting a long time like overnight for all fuel to dry up.. or pull the plugs and clean before re-installing, etc. Crank the engine with plugs removed, and air-fuel mixture is coming out the plug holes considerably, I don't know if its much more than it's supposed to.

your ECM is probably bad, needing new caps to get it to work right. There is also the temperature sensor and the TPS sensor, but if it isn't those, its the ECM.

Test procedure for the TPS with a volt-meter? And also what ohm resistance should the [cold] temp sensor be registering at?

Thank you, can you tell me what bolt I am missing in this pic, near the throttle body?

I couldn't find a bolt that would fit, is it related to the issue like some kind of BISS screw?
