Hey guys, I'm new to MightyRam50 and new to the Mitsubishi world! I stumbled upon this site while doing some research on some truck upgrades and I am very glad I found this site! I am very inspired and determined to build my truck after seeing what other guys have done to theirs!

About the build: I have a 1987 Mitsubishi Mighty Max, 2.0L I4, Auto, 2WD. Yes, it has an automatic transmission, which seems to be rare in these trucks! The body has about 143,xxx and the motor has around 30,xxx or less. The motor was replaced with a Jasper before I got the truck. My plans to build the truck is to keep the G63B in it by rebuilding it, (Jasper is not very good quality), putting a WEBER carb on it, putting some nice wheels on it, lowering it, and roll on some window tint. I have already painted the rims and replaced some of the exhaust. I had a single chamber flow master knock-off installed on it and for a four cylinder, it sounds great!

This is my first truck and I am very well pleased with it! I have been surprised at how much the little 4 cylinder truck can haul! I believe that when they made these trucks, they made them to haul as much as a full size truck! I can't wait to build this truck!

Welcome, nice truck and yes a little rare, I have not personally ever seen a g63b with the auto, although I know they are around.

Welcome to mightyram. Your truck looks very clean and straight. Being an auto optioned truck I doubt there would be many of them around so you are a member of a rare group indeed!

Thanks guys! I have only seen one other auto around here. An auto lets me sip my coffee in the mornings but I can't get up to speed as good as a manual. They have their advantages and disadvantages.

first mighty max i rode in was a 2L auto.
Another neighbour bought a D50, auto also
When i seeked out a 2.4L mpi sohc mitsu motor for a project, i pulled it from an automatic wrecked truck

That's cool. The auto was not common on these trucks but there are a few out there still.

Welcome...........................................

Mines automatic, but, I kinda wished it were 5 speed.

I like the auto for the drinking coffee in the morns, but I can't get the OD to work and fear it may be costly to even get the trans checked let alone repair it.

Nice. I'm not sure about the overdrive function of the transmission, I haven't researched it yet. With a donor truck and some modification, you can put a 5 speed in it. Might need a whole pot of coffee though. Lol
