Hey gang, I am trying to pass an emissions test. What I learned is my CO2 levels are double what they should be. What I know is I have an exhaust leak and am burning oil. I am wondering what I can do myself to remedy the situation. I am mechanically competent as far as following step-by-step instruction, but I don't have the depth of knowledge required to fix it. Are the stop-leak oil additives a quick fix for the situation?

First do you need the stock carb for your state? If not you need to lean it out. You can do this by getting smaller jets unless it's the idle that failed. Please post up the report print out. Then the SMOG guys will jump in.

If it's burning oil I would suggest having the valve seals replaced..that could but much of the issue.
