4d56 and 4d55 injectors and head swap

So I found a 4d56 head for my 84 ram 50 and am wondering if the injectors would be interchangeable and if there is anything else I need to watch out for to complete the swap?

Would a 1984 have 20mm injectors?

The head is protruding valve but I heard injectors could be different.

Hi Zaque,

As long as you have a true 84 head than the swap is simple. It's only 83 that had bigger injectors. I have noticed over the years because there were more diesels sold for 83 year than the other years that many people got 83 heads from junk yards and put them on there 84 up truck confusing people later......... The injectors and return line would be difference.
