Found this on Craigslist. Checked out the pickup and looks fine except the engine which I'm iffy about. Any thoughts trying to penny pinch my way into this one being operational.

Looks to have a g63b(2.0) from looking at it and seeing it has a belt and not a chain. Looks to need all timing/balance shaft stuff put on, easy and not too expensive for parts, as long as timing didn't jump and bend valves or anything.

I'm not too keen on the 4 cyl 1st gen stuff. Now if you had a 2nd gen or a 6g7*.

Oil pump and balance shaft install. It will be easy putting it back together. The trick is setting the timing belts correctly. This procedure is extensively covered on the site. It's got power steering! For $100 it's worth it - warts and all.

Incredible deal to let slip through members fingers. Should of jumped all over that truck. These motors have non-interference heads, so you can explode a timing belt and there will be no bent valves. I have melted a belt so bad it was stuck to the timing cover. Pistons have impressions to keep them away from connecting to valves on a belt destruction.

guy said he was gonna hook it up and bring it over Saturday morning emailed him four times and when I called yeah got someone from Bay Area buying it for 200
