Grinding noise when depressing clutch pedal

Hey hey,

Just as I seemed to get my running hot issue under control, a new concern arrises. The beauty of an 86...

As I pulled into park yesterday, I went to put it into first to shut it off and there was an awful grinding sound so I didnt want to force it in. This wasn't my usual "shifting it into reverse grind/clunk sound". Then I noticed if i put in the clutch pedal it was also making a grind, which is new. I decided I needed to get home cause I didn't want to get stuck where I was, and went for it....problem free. Even at stop signs no issue in first. Only when I reached home, pulled in and it was making that same constant grind when trying for first, and depressing clutch. I think my throw out bearing has been making some noise for a while, could this be that coming to its end?

If the noise shows up when you lightly press the clutch in without engaging gears then the throw out bearing will be part of the problem. If it has collapsed you won't get full clutch pedal travel and it will only be magnified if the clutch assembly is at the end of it's life.

First try adjusting the clutch cable. Just pop the hood on the firewall find the cable then pull it away from the firewall and turn the nut back to the firewall.
Unless it's super tight then it will be a clutch and TO bearing because it has warn down far enough that it has engaged the TO bearing and it has come to the end if it's life.

Thanks guys. Since the clutch is hydraulic (Ford Ranger 2.3l TD) its non adjustable correct?
