I've got a 88 mm that had bad 2.0 narrow block with a 5spd trans. I bought a 87 d50 that had an 2.0 with a auto trans. I was just going to use the good motor from the d50 in my 88 mm but the 88mm had a narrow 5spd trans compared to the 87 d50's wide auto trans. I figured since they were both 2.0 motors they would fit but I found out the hard way they wouldn't. Does anyone know any info on what 5spd trans would work with my wide block 2.0 or what vehicle I could get one out of? Any information would help. Thanks in advance

Check in the WIKI area here in the forum, there is a link under the engine section that has a chart and info on exactly what you are looking for.

you can use a 5 speed out of the 1990 and newer 2.4l mm/d50 for the wide block 2.0

Yeah as stated you can use a 2.4L 90+ tranny as the 2.4l are wideblock, but not sure on the flywheel/pp and clutch combo to get it working.

you can also use a 79 - 89 2.6 5speed as they are wideblock also
