My mass air glow sensor died on the way home from work. Can I get one off another mitshubushi car as there are no mm or ram 59 cars around here.

I stood on the gas then the engine quit. It would only run with the mass air sensor unplugged.
I'm assuming that it has failed.
What I don't understand is why it failed when I stood on the Gas...rge revs were down and not even a lot of air would have gone past the sensor.

Still trying to figure out how flooring the gas can make a map sensor fail....

I just checked the air flow sensor on my truck and it is off of a mitsh expo with a 2.4 litre.
Looks like mine has been replaced in the past.
Would a 2.4 in an expo have different mapping than a ram 50.
The replacement air flow sensor is really cheaper and still available.

It even has a different cardone part number 746001 and the proper one for my truck is 746009...
I'm really curious what the difference is.
They are both vortex air flow sensors..mount the same and the same engine.

Get the right one for your application. Think of all the possible differences between your truck and the Expo it came off of. 7 bolt vs. 6 bolt, automatic vs. stick, 16V vs. 8V, California emissions vs. Federal, who knows what else? Stick with the correct part for the application.

I ordered the correct part but interested as to why this part was on my truck.

I got the new sensor and immediately the truck drove better...it seems to have fixed the idle issue and now it makes sense that probably it was dumping fuel in every time it got a bad reading.
cardone really butchers the case to get them apart to change the internals.
The check engine went right off.
I'm thinking off opening the old one to look inside if anyone is interested.
