Just wanted to introduce myself, Max, 25, Delaware.

I currently own a 1986 Mighty Max and a 1987 Montero.

Anyone planning on heading to Mitsubishi Owners Day in Camden, NJ this October?

w00t! Welcome and post pics of your rides!

I went to West Coast MODa month ago. Too many Evos, not enough Montys and no trucks!

Thanks!!! The Mighty Max runs great, all stock, everything functions as intended.

I got the Montero 2 months ago and it had a Weber on it and failed DE inspection terribly!!! Two months of work on it myself, I rebuilt the original Mikuni and redid all of the vacuum lines previous owner got rid of. I'm not a mechanic, I studied art at university, but it passed and runs now! Probably 90% of what is should be, but for now thats good enough for me.
The photo attached is the Delaware DMV inspection, top is the failure with the Weber and bottom is my work and the Mikuni.

a proper jetting of the weber would get the Montero to pass emissions - Geronimo passed his with a weber and no cat with flying colors.

It was fun restoring everything, all I had to do was purchase some carb cleaner and new vac lines and 2 gaskets. Plus I like the look of the original airbox instead of the weber air filter.

When I purchased the vehicle he gave me the original carb and all parts he removed.

if it works for you that's fine. I have run a weber on Geronimo since 1983, and couldn't be happier with the change.
