The ecms on these trucks are prone to bad caps that cause erratic idle - there is a thread on here that gives the step by step on repair. A bad maf, bad or misadjusted tps, or bad vacuum hoses will also cause this issue. Make sure the intake, exhaust, throttle body, and intake hoses are all tight. Welcome to the forum - we need pics, condition not important.

We should update the Do This First sticky with information about the bad caps -- this comes up so often and leads to so much unnecessary frustration and people being mislead into thinking they're bad trucks. They're not.
