I've looked and searched and can't find a definitive diagram or write up for installing a 1st gen maf translator verI 2.02 in my 91 mighty max 4g64 2.4 with a gm maf, 12a turbo conversation. I need the engine side maf pigtail wire colors to the maf translator plug pins. Thanks

you truck should have a 2g style maf sensor being a 91, do have any pictures of your engine bay

2g, yes. I knew that

Interesting place for the Intercooler... what ECU are you using? Wire colors for the MAF Signals are in this

lower right side of the diagram you will find the "Air Flow Sensor".

as for the GM MAF Wiring... it will be the same as the Eclipse and Talon 4G63 instructions. The ECU Pinouts are the same...I "Know"

I'm Turbocharged and I transplanted a AEM ECU for the 4G63 Turbo application into my Truck. i converted to a distributor-less Dual Coil ignition and Eclipse throttle-body. So my 4G64 SOHC looks like a 4G63 eclipse to the ECU.... I went Speed Density with a 5 bar MAP and ditched the MAF.

Thanks, LSR Mike. its a 1g eclipse smic, 12a starion turbo on a sohc turbo manifold from australia. stock ecu, 450 dsm injectors. I have the same diagram in my hand but it does not show the actual plug side , thats the maf side in the diagram. my wire colors in the plug are R/G, R/Blk, B, R, Wht/R, P, Grn. i had a hunch the maf-t wouldd wire up the same as in an eclipse so i will match the pinouts accordingly. i just thought i read somewhere that 2 of the pins had to be swapped but mighta been another engine. so even though the wire colors are different m their locations in the plug are the same as dsm. ok, going with that....getting real close to 1 startup...

oh, and i'm puttung a small 4" hood scoop right above the IC with homemade insulation for water to drain thru the IC when driven in the rain....

Stock ECU? with 450CC Injectors? The code table is for 275 CC injectors in the stock ECU, your fuel will be way off. Also the 450CC injectors need the Resistor Pack, Impedance is different, unless you have checked this stuff out and have done the right stuff...

I put in a NACA Duct..

cool setup on your truck, there seems to be a lot of turbo mighty max trucks in florida, there are a couple in tampa and orlando.

Where did you find that manifold

Where did that manifold come from?

Where did that manifold come from?

Australian Mitsubishi Starion manifold from 4g63 sohc motor I believe.

Indeed it is - Geezer, you could make a mint on here selling those manifolds if you could find them...

Dude, I'd have little trouble finding those. Austarion would have a heap of members that would be stockpiling them, and performance importers and tuners would have them too. I've got a friend that has one from a Starion he junked. The cars themselves weren't big sellers (only 1699 are recorded as sold in Australia) but a lot of engines made their way here. I think there were split pulse versions of the manifolds around as well. It's kind of weird that you guys got the 4G54 versions of Starions and we got the 4G63's.
