Hey everyone,

Been reading up on your side and figured I would join. I just picked up (last weekend) an 85 that made its way out here (Grand Rapids, MI) from somewhere in Oregon (which surprisingly means less rust). Can't wait to dig in! Let me know if any of your are in the area. I'd be curious to see how many of these survive out here with all this rot!

lol that's creepy sounding. I'll get some pics here shortly, about to head out to the SOS and get it titled. From what I can tell, it is in pretty decent shape, at least for being out here. I didn't do nearly as much due diligence as I should've as I kind of fell for it once I drove it. This will be my first foray into diesels, so hopefully it won't be too rough. I try to approach with a bout of caution, so she should be well taken care of!

Welcome to the Forum Donvier. We have some members that keep an eye on truck sales and what not and it's kinda nice to see some of these still in good condition. There are some good deals out there also. With parts becoming harder to find then a 3 boobie lady, we look for doners and parts to save for backup. One member here could probably start re-manufacturing these trucks with all his parts.
Anyway, were not that creepy...atleast I'm not :lmao: No offense Noah my friend!

I don't blame ya at all. I did (admittedly) not do as much research as I should've regarding parts availability, but I did search around a little. Luckily the truck came with few extras from a donor the previous owner was using out west. Sadly I haven't been able to touch it this week with work going on, but I have all the basic parts coming in hopefully by the weekend to get started (timing belt, etc). Can't wait!
