Hello from South Texas. Does anyone know what the PSI range is for compression checks? Just picked up a 85 4x4 MM in a trade and need to start evaluating what I have to work with. Any help appreciated.

Funny there isn't a plus or minus associated with that, most others have a 14 psi variance. Go figure. Thanks for the help.

Thank you for the welcome. I don't have any compression readings yet, armature is bad on the starter. I can only get about one and one half turns on the engine before it spins out. More to follow as soon as thats fixed.

Compression is bound to be low on an old motor. The thing to look for is a big difference between cylinders.

Make sure your cooling system is adequate because overheating these engines usually leads to cracked heads.
