Hi, anyone know where I can get replacement foam piece that is in between the firewall and the wiper motor? I think it is (was) some sort of dust barrier or something. When I took out my wiper motor, it crumbled. has anyone made their own? Thx, Greg

Making your own shouldn't be a problem, just choose the right material.

You can try RockAuto to see if they carry the gasket.

That stuff is like a wetsuit material for surfers and divers, craft shop, foam factory, hardware stores.. Got any diving shops close by? I'll install my ASA program and check for a part number.

Ok, the above image shows the parts used, or should I say available for this area. They show no dust cover thingy there. So, I would go with Roy's idea to make your own. Simple project for anyone and material is available.

"frost king" www.frostking.com (http://www.frostking.com) is 1 manufacturer & comes in various colors (V449 is grey). I grabbed a few rolls at the dollar store.

That self adhesive foam weather strip is useful stuff. I bought a roll of 6mm wide foam for $2 to replace all the seals in my heater box. It's like new now. It should do the job as a substitute for the wiper motor seal (good tip ragtime!)
