First of all i checked the bulb it works fine.

My 4x4 works, 4hi and 4lo

But when i move the selector lever next to the Trans shifter into 4hi or 4lo my dash light will not come on.

Im not sure what exactly makes the light turn on.

I removed these two sensor type things on the very top right of the transfer case and a ball metal ball came from behind them, i figures that wasnt the switch to turn the 4wd light on but i could be wrong.

any help here would be great

thanks ahead of time.

okay thanks to "camoit" i looked at the manual and found out that those switches were actually the 4wd light switches. Is there any way to test the switches, maybe check ohms will switch is depressed and when the switch isnt?

okay i removed the switches and test there continuity.

Both switches were inconsistent.

ohm reading with pin on switches out are 0.01

ohm reading with pin on switches in are not reading on the multimeter. (as if i hadn't connected it to anything).

Btw there was some oil in the switches.

Not all the time they return to 0.01 sometimes they dont return at all and sometimes its a higher reading around 10 and sometimes at 50-80.

How is the wiring from the sensors? When my 4x4 dash lights quit, it turned out that the wiring was damaged by some branches jammed up under the truck. Good luck!

okay voltage tested the switches, they are good, turns out on my cluster there is no 4wd light, there isnt a socket for it even. I was pulling the gauge illumination light thinking it was the 4wd. Hard to tell when your just putting your hand up there and using your fingers to sort stuff out. Took me to pulling the cluster to find out. all the wiring is there with the switches, so im just going to install a led that will do the same thing and install it near the dash somewhere or maybe drill a hole and install the led where the dash light should be.

Thanks for the help guys. I was just trying to fix something that really couldn't be fixed lol

Anyone know if these are identical to the back up light switch? I can find those no problem, but I can't seem to get a part number for the 4wd light switch. I'm also just too lazy to pull both off and see if they're the same or not...

to connect them...

there are 2 wires from the wiring harness... one is from the light, the other one is ground...

to connect them,

1. connect any one of those 2 wires from the car to one on the switch... (lets call this switch switch 1)
2. on that same switch (switch 1), the remaining wire connect it to one wire on the another switch... (now, lets call this switch 2)
3. the remaining wire on the switch 2 connect it to the remaining wire on the wiring harness...
