What's a good seat that would fit in the Gen II trucks, the stock "anti-lumbar" seats are tough on long trips?

Not much helpful info going on here! What seats do fit with the least amount of messing with? Buckets or bench as I have different seats in both of my D50 trucks that need replacing. I would like to know before I fork out the bucks.

Define "Messing with"

It's up to your abilities. Can you cut and bend metal? or can you weld it too? Do you want a 100% drop in and go? or do you mind adapting one seat via some custom brackets you have to fabricate?

My point is - you can add any seat you want to if you build the brackets to do so. Are you waiting for someone to come up with the info, or can you run to a junk yard and take a few hours to try some seats out?

If you run to the yard, pick a half dozen seats to check out, you will find out real quick what will and will not fit, with or without mods. You can then come back here and share the info. In turn, you get a cool seat, and everyone will thank you. I think the most bucks I have ever spent getting into a junk yard was $5. That's not a huge loss to test out fitment.

More worried about the fit, width wise the bracket I can make no problem, there must be a common vehicle (size wise) that are often used.

Go measure some seats

That seat actually looks like the back seat out of an SUV because it has no adjustment (if it did, it would probably be a front seat). Which one? I don't know.

Any Fox-Body Ford or Pre 90 Escort/Lynx. Mine are from a 86 Escort GT and the inboard track bolts to the seat, the outboard needed an extension welded to the inside of the track to move the track 3/4" closer to the door to fit in the factory holes. I could have put the outboard rail on the seat and just drilled new holes.

Here are 2 universal seats with flat sliders.

Brackets were built to fit them. If you look on my build thread, post 89, you will get a better description

I used dodge neon seats. No brackets needed just a little cutting, welding and grinding. I took a hour to fit both seats and they're pretty comfortable.

Thanks that helps a lot the closest late model bone yard is 120 miles away from here.

I used Mitsubishi Eclipse seats and paid $17 for the pair, in fact any pair are $17 in our yards. For that price it was worth a couple extra holes in the floor board. These replaced old IROC bucket seats I had for years.

I will run buckets in the X-cab one but I need to run a soild back bench for the longbed (tank) to hold my rifles to be handy. Any bench seat option that will fit the Gen II models?

I'm staring at a '95 Isuzu Trooper. The back seat looks exactly like the seat on post 1.

I'll post a pic later when im not on my phone.
