that is a standard axle to use for the swap, although I have seen jeep axles used also. You may want to use both axles from the donor vehicle so the ratios match. With the Toy axles, you have more choices with axles ratios and several types of locking diffs, including air lockers for both front and rear. Not sure how you would link the axle to the steering box, but i'm sure the answer is out there on the 4wd forums.

The Toyota pumpkin is on the passengers side of the truck so it's on the wrong side to hook to the Mits T-case, Grab a set of axles off a Jeep Cherokee, the front is a Dana 40 or 44 so gears are available up to a 5.56 ratio. Not only that but its a 4 link set up so you could probably make some brackets and use the set up.

im not too sure how to measure everything to make sure itll work. then il have to work on the steering setup.

you might need to modify it a bit to fit on a Mits but it should work.

If it was me unless you plan on running V8 power you don't need Dana 44's too big too heavy for little 4 cylinder. What my future plan is since I have an XJ project vehicle, Dana 30 Front Dana 35 Rear. For front Dana 30 w/ super 30 kit, Narrowed to 57 in AOW, ECTED locker, 4.56 gears to start, Dana 44 flat tops knuckles (source from mid 80 dodge 1/2 ton) w/ 5x5.5 bolt welded to the 30, TnT Customs axle truss w/ track bar mount, Clayton Off-Road style XJ Cherokee long arm system just the arms can be bought separately, fabricate front trailing arm mounts to stock tranny x-member, custom upper shock mounts for DACOS 12 in. total travel shocks. Rear Dana 35 w/ super 35 kit, Narrowed to 57 in AOW, ECTED locker, 4.56 gears, TJ Wrangler Rear Dana 44 outers Bearing Retainer etc.. welded to 35 this eliminates C-clips and allows the use of TJ rear disc with 5x5.5 bolt pattern, TNT Customs axle truss w/ triangulated 4 link attachments, Clayton Off-Road style XJ Cherokee Rear Coil long arms just arms, Fab the rear arm mounts on frame, Fab upper shock mount for rear and run same DACOS shocks on rear. Run alloy 30 spline axles gtg for up to 35 in tires. my plan is run about a 32x10 this set up should be good for about 6-8 in lift measured from ground to top of wheel arch. this will require custom drive shafts and slip yoke eliminators on t-case.
