Yo guys i got a set of 18'' Titan wheels and was wondering if a 235/40/r18 would be a good fit? and what will i have to do get the wheels to fit without boring the wheel? and if i do have to bore them how much do i bore?

I had a set of 17" trailblazers. I put on 225/50r17 and they fit nice with a little stretch on em. Looked nice, till they somehow disappeared from my garage.

If you don't want to bore out the rims, fastest way is to buy some spacers to clear the hub center. Best way is to grind down the tabs on your hubs. Most used way was to bore the rims.

i would just bore them and be done...it only cost me 55 for all for at local shop. Abuddy of mine did a set for me..with a certain bit and a router...came out just as good as the machine shop/garage...

i dont recommend spacers...but to each there own..

I would go with a 225 width. Titans are 8" wide and that width will fit the wheel perfectly and flush if that's what you want. I have 225/40 on my new 18s and it looks Sweet.

I think the titans poke out a bit more then the escalades so spacers would look a little weird. A few members perfer grinding down the tabs because it allows the owner to swap between different 6x5.5 gm wheels without grinding them out too. I know a few but they can poke in and say hi. ;)

not to mention grinding down the tabs on the hubs doesn't weaken the wheel. The wheels can crack when bored out. Matt from PA had a very strong stance on this as I believe one if his friends had a wheel break and come off of his truck while he was driving.

Only use spacers if you change out the studs for longer ones and then only thick enough to clear the tabs. If you cut off the tabs on the hubs, the rear axle shafts need to be turned down for the clearance of the wheels.

Word guya thanks for thy input. Lol but the reason I asked was cuz a buddy had a set of tires tha are 235/40 so that's why the question was brought up

how wide are the titan wheels? you could probably fit a 235 on there if their 8 wide. I had 225/45/17 on my escalade wheels and they fit perfect.

Nothing wrong with getting wider tires in the rear. And for $20, can't really complain much. ;) tires are expensive nowadays. I remember my 195/50r15 tires for my Honda being like 45 per tire on special. Of course without mount and balance.

I'm getting some 18x8 Escalade Alloys. So...225/40, right?

DroppedMitsu

Yup that's what I run on 18x8 and they are perfect imo, flush with the edge of rim and not too tall or small of a sidewall

Quick question; will the 18x8s tuck or will I have to roll the fenders?

I think you have to roll the fenders and maybe a lil flaring.

Nice wheels Sergio, look real good on the truck. Planning to get center caps also?

I have blank center caps, I just don't always run with them. Trying to keep them clean.
