Haha, my account is still active, I've just been busy finishing school etc. I will try and fix the links for those pictures, if they're still in my online directory.

The truck has been put on the back burner at the moment, but I do have some snippets to share. I'll have an update up shortly.

The pruning process eliminated users who signed up and never posted, as well as a few people who haven't been on for years. I seen them get moved to guest status. I do hope to see this move further along though.

I'm glad I still have my account -- and I apologize for not being all that active. Fixed the images on the first page, they have been redirected and should show up now.

My 50 is still going strong, and has been my daily driver for almost 2 years. It has had 28,000 kilometers /17,000 miles put on it during that time, but unfortunately she has taken some minor damage. The driver side door is dented in slightly -- but I will either find a new door, or pop it out and attempt some auto body work.

I've been in the market for a 5spd 86-89 Toyota Van (for festivals/summers/pleasure craft) to add to my list of projects -- so my attention/plans for the 50 have altered. It is a wonderful truck with a lot of life left in it, and I'd hate to let it go for nothing. I'm going to try and bring her back to stock condition and keep her around. In short this is what I plan to do:

    Timing Belts / Tension Pulleys
    Valve Cover Gasket
    Paint Valve Cover
New Carpeting / Sound Deaden Panels
    New Seating
    New Headers
    Add Power Steering
    New Rims
Autobody - Tailgate - Door - Valance - Hood etc.
    Rhino Line Box
    New Carb

Its still in the spirit of my original intentions, its just that I don't really have a timeline for this -- but I'll peck away at it. As mentioned before I have access to a full shop with all the tools I'll ever need. I'll do my best to update anytime something happens. Heres some pictures of its current condition.

I had found a lockbox on the cheap and bolted it to the frame -- helps with the storage issue in a regular cab. Sprayed it with black Rhinoliner. (Bare aluminum checker plate makes me want to puke.)

Minor Update:

My truck had been leaking oil out of the valve cover for too long -- and I got tired dealing with oil drips in the driveway. Bought a new gasket set and figured while I'm at it I might as well paint the cover/ air intake assembly too. One thing led to another and I figured I might as well change the timing/balance belts & tension pulleys out too. Just waiting until friday for the tensioners to ship from Vancouver. (I didn't take any pictures of masking off the pieces for painting, but I used black high temp wrinkle finish paint and baked it in the oven.)

All painted and assembled.

I didn't want to break any threads trying to take the pipe off -- so I cut and brazed it shut.

Image
Ugly stock header, pitted and nasty. I know it kind of a shot in the dark, but does anybody know where to find a paired port header for these trucks?

Theres a thread on here about someone else looking for a set of paired port headers for their truck. You think about spraying it with that cheap ceramic coat spray paint? I don't know of anyone personally spraying the stock cast piece before. Unless full custom stainless is in your shop activities. I'm sure a few people might buy sets from you if you could.
