Transmission Compatibility?

Hey guys, im new here (obviously). im just here to ask you guys if a transmission from a 91 4x2 2.6 sport is compatbile with my 1988 4x2 2.6 sport.

2.6 to 2.6 and both 2wd u should be good to go. If u want to make sure measure the length apart of the two bottom bellhousing bolt, if they are the same length apart then it will work.

only 4 cylinder in front of that transmission in '91 was the wide block 2.4. it should fit the wide block 2.6 in an older rig.

wait, so even if it isnt a 2.6, should the tranny fit?

yes, if it is a fuel injected 2.4l (4g64) the tranny will still work.
