Throw out bearing differences??

OK, I've installed my 2.6 back in my 88 max and used a 2.4's trans because it only had 81K on it and the orig had 225K.
I need to know if the throw out bearings are different between the 2.6 and the 2.4's.

I already asked about it not going into gear, but the cable/adjustment is fine. I just can't remember which throw out I used..
At the time I had two 2.6's and the 2.4 and used the best of all. I'm kinda wondering if the 2.4's throw out isn't long enough..

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
