Manual Trans compatibility question

Well, upon further investigation into the trans problem, we think the clutch is just hung up. Either stuck to the flywheel or hung up on the input shaft. Haven't torn it down yet but I got a new clutch coming tomorrow and we'll try to dig into it if I'm not to busy at work tomorrow.
Might not need a trans after all...

the 2.0 in the trucks used the narrow bell housing pattern like the fwd cars. if you have a 2.0/5spd truck and want to keep your original trans, use the engine from an eclipse, gallant, etc and use intake/exh manifold and other bits from a mighty max. was thinking about using an 8 valve roller cam 2.4 from a 92 expo in my 87 ram 50 before i came up with the crazy idea to stuff a 260hp/tq mivec 3.8 from a new eclipse (w/ montero parts to convert to rwd configuration) with a rare imported r5m31 manual trans from a rwd pajero/shogun.

g52b 2.0 auto in truck
g54b 2.6 auto/stick in truck
4g64 2.4 auto/stick in truck

narrow block:
g52b 2.0 stick in truck
g54b 2.6 in dodge k car
4g63 2.0 in fwd mitsu
4g64 2.4 in fwd mitsu

if you have an anemic 2.0 in your 80's pickup, you can upgrade to a more modern engine from a newer mitsu front wheel drive like an eclipse or galant and keep your trans. only considerations are fuel delivery, correct clutch (6 or 7 bolt crank, etc) and making sure the plumbing is routed correctly as the transverse cars have some differences with the cylinder head. the engine that interests me the most for my 87 ram 50 5spd is the 92 mitsubishi expo van with optional 2.4. it has a 6 bolt crank and features an 8 valve roller camshaft for durability and simplicity (non interference unlike the dohc cyl heads).

One correction to the list - G54b 79-86 1st gen auto trucks are narrow block.
