Do they make preformance shift kits for am 1988 2.0 automatic transmission? Cuz all I can find is kits for 90 and up 2.4 & 3.0 trucks.

you need more than a shift kit if that auto has a little 2.0 in front of it!

shift kits are generally for beefing up the trans and on full size trucks it works to firm up the shifts to eliminate wear and tear when towing, etc.

my advice: 1) bigger engine 2) manual transmission.

i'm lucky to have a 5spd in my 87 2.0 truck. it makes it feel sporty even if it isn't fast.

If its the 4sp OD, try force 10 transmissions - they have them and is common for the starquest autos. They may even have them for the 3 sp auto; look them up.
