can i use the MAP sensor and the TPS sensor together on the MegaJolt ECU for better timing control, or, should i use just one or the other? if so, which will give me the best and most accurate readings?

You need both - the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor is for the change in intake pressure (airflow measurement), and the tps is the throttle position sensor. Some setups use a MAF (mass airflow) sensor in place of the MAP. Neither will directly control the timing, but are information the ecm needs to determine the timing based on your program present.

i had a feeling i needed both. next question is; can i use the vacuum advance for the MAP sensor or do i need to find a different place?

Hmmm. Mighty Max's with Fuel Injection use a MAF. And don't have a Vacuum advance on the distributor. That is what the ECU is doing..

On Mine there is a little port on the back of the Intake (on the top of the Plenum chamber just to the left the big round protrusion in the Pix) where I plugged in the line to my AEM 5 Bar MAP Sensor. Its on the back of the intake facing the firewall when installed and makes it easy to mount the MAP to the Firewall.
I'm running a AEM EMS.

my '89 Power Ram 50 has a carb on it, not fuel injection.so, is there a place on the intake other than the vacuum advance i can, or should, use?
