Whats the standard rev limit on the 2.0?

I've got the msd ignition all fitted and need to know what to set the limiter to, I'm about to order a tacho too.

MSD 6AL-2

Works nicely with the blaster coil, but I've yet to exploit its potential. I need to find a cam, get some decent plugs and leads.

I think about 10,000 RPM should do the trick.…

Oh weight a second --------- nope I was a little off ------- Now lets see…....Formula One Regulations in 2010 is 18,000 but in 2006 Cosworth pulled over 20,000 rpm ---- A mazda Rotery runs out of power around 9000 ---- Yamaha R6 can do 17,000 ---- Nascar right a 9000 ---- A built out Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X turbocharged L4 7000 rpm------ Caterpillar 3406-B is 2000 ---- a train Locomotive engine 1000 RPM Max -------- So the answer for your engine is ---- 6 ----- Yep thats it, just 6. ---- I hope this helps you :}

Ok on a serious note I would keep it around 6200 to 6500 RPM max. The only way you would want to risk going any faster is if you spent the time and money to reduce the reciprocating mass of the engine. Lighter pistons, lighter rods, or even a shorter stroke. I have seen so many guys drop in a cam and a lighter flywheel and then try to hit 7500 RPM. Just to have every thing fall on the street.
