exhaust set up??

Posted: Tue Jan 25, 2011 11:03 pmn/a 4 cylinder: 2" pipe w/ low restriction muffler. you want efficiency, not volume. too much space and exhaust velocity slows down hurting throttle response and low end power.
turbo 4 cylinder: 2-1/2" to 3" depending on engine and turbo size
6 cylinder: i'd like to do dual 2" w/ crossover pipe behind a mivec 3.8 in my 87 ram 50. only problem is the fuel tank location, otherwise an old school symmetrical dual exhaust would be awesome

Posted: Wed Jan 26, 2011 5:12 pmdo like other f/s trucks do - run both pipes down one side until you're clear of the gas tank, then separate them to the rear.
