glow plug relay

Hello,

I have yet another question about the relay. So It turns out that 3 out of 4 of the glow plugs were bad. So I replaced those and the truck starts up fine every time. I live in Oregon so it gets down to the high 30's right now. It does seem like the plugs are not firing after start-up however because it will smoke for 5-8 minutes. And once I start driving the relay starts firing in quick successions, like every 1 second it makes that clicking sound and does this off and on for about 5 minutes. It does not seem to do this while the car is parked. Firing so much that it seems like it might break. Could I need a new temperature sensor? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What year is your truck? Th 83 trucks used a different system than the 84-85 trucks.

Your ecu is bad. Every 83 truck does this after years. Ask Spence for the rebuilders info to repair the box.

Oh yeah, I was also wondering what the ECU does, and if it it located inside the cab on the passenger side?
Thanks
