Why is my suspension bouncy?

I thought it was my rear shocks since i dropped it 3 inches so i got me some belltech nitro 2 drop schocks, the shocks are excellent but its still somewhat bouncy. Also any suggestions for front shock i want to lower it 1 inch in the front.

you dropped it using blocks?

Which end feels 'bouncy'? It might be teetering back and fourth bouncing more at the end that the shocks are the weakest and not able to hold the spring from unoading so quickly..

Try and shove down a corner fast and let it up (or bounce) If it bounces more than 1.5x, then that corner shock or strut might be shot.

yeah its lowered with blocks in the rear, i installed nitro 2 drop shocks and the rear is amazing now but i hear squeaks coming from the front anytime i go over any little bump. I doesnt bounce more than 1.5x when i turn quick

it may be that either your suspension is hitting the bump stop or you front shocks are too long, or another possibility did you do any front suspension work and use eurathane bushings?? they will squeak like a bitch.

Urathane won't squeak if you use the right grease - try Superlube or Reeses teflon trailer ball grease. I have run urathane bushings for well over 20 years and mine don't squeak - same truck, same bushings. Just grease them every 4-5 years and you'll be fine.

ive done the same and mine dont squeak either only when im at extreme articulation but some ppl dnt know wht grease to use or how to do it right

so true - the orginal urathane bushings i bought in 84 petrified on me and galled to the arms and bolts. I drilled them out around the bolts then drove out the bolts. The next set i got don't get hard and have graphite in them, but still need greased.

I haven't done anything to the front at all ever, I did however notice my strut rod bushing are shot to hell so I ordered new 1's, hopefully that helps with the squeaking. Also I'm going to lower the front I'm probably going to use nitro 2 drop shocks like I did the rear because the difference is ridiculous, but I'm debating wether to cut the springs or just buy lowering springs for 150, any advice for me guys? I'll check the bump stops too

Lowering springs are the way to go = they are made to account for the drop without making the ride harsh. Also check the upper control arm bushings while you have the suspension apart - they get dry and squeak. New shafts and bushings run about 60 on ebay for both sides and have zerk fittings. For all the bump stops, cut them in half to increase the suspension travel - do not go more than 1/2 on the front or the balljoints will be damaged from excessive angle travel when at bottom of travel. As an added tip, get 1" longer bolts for the lower shock mount bolts for the front and use a spacer between the arm and the shock crossbar - this gives you a better range of damping for your shocks by putting your travel range more to the normal range and prevents the shock from bottoming out when the suspension does.
