got me a 2000 Dodge Dakota quad cab 4X4 with the 5.9 V8 Magnum =) yessir this thing don't play nice!

in the process of changing the rear end. got the 3.55 gears. we pulled a rear end off of an 02 Durango 4X4... same length & gear ratio.... but since when does a 4X4 not have positive traction? isn't that a 3X4? lol

anyways, the rear end can't be used... shock mount is also different, but we would have modified that to fit.. but i bought a 4X4 and i def. want a 4X4...

anyone know of a rear end with the 3.55 ratio that would fit my truck?

well we got the whole positrac rebuild set for $150.. not too bad...

started getting it all back together last night, but we ran out of day light so it still not finished yet =(

hopefully by this weekend so i can get some pics up... i've been having dreams of driving this truck!

plus once we get this one on the road, we're hauling my MM over to our house to start tearing it down... the excitement is killing me =)

It's all fun in the build. Projects are never finished cause new stuff come out. Or find something you don't like and change it. Thumbs up for progress.

=( well bad news...

we went camping this weekend. i get a phone call saying that we need to come home, there is a problem with our truck... the two jack stands supporting it snappped and the truck fell to the ground!

didn't encounter too much body damage, luckily. and even luckier, no one was under the truck when it happened. we were using 3 ton jack stands and they seemed pretty secure. not sure what happened. we went buy more jack stands and we now have it more heavily supported..

BUT we're pretty much back at square one.. have to pull out the shafts and clean the entire rear end to get rid of the dirt from when it fell to the ground.

always fun...

well the Dakota is on the road =) now that i finished spending money on it and i can concentrate on my mighty max again! about to get it trailered to my new place and start messing with it. got a family friend who is a mechanic and will come check it out for us at home..
